When our clients visited our Willoughby Showroom, they were immediately impressed not only with the quality and variety of the displays, but also with the attention to detail, hospitality and presentation.

Like many of our clients, Mr and Mrs M. from Burwood were looking for a custom-built designer kitchen.

Also, like many of our clients, they started their search in the famous “Kitchen Strip” along Penshurst Street in Willoughby.

Most Sydney siders looking to renovate their kitchen will go to Penshurst Street or, as it is known colloquially, “The Kitchen Strip”.

Here, Astute renovators and builders looking for a designer kitchen, can park their car and take their time going from one showroom to the other.

They can even stop for a coffee and cake in one of the many coffee shops in the precinct.

Degabriele Kitchens has not only been part of the history and make up of this precinct but has in fact played a role in the development of the area as a kitchen renovator’s dream.

The initial design brief given to our designer Nick was to create something different.

Their house is a substantial period piece dating back to the 1920’s.

It has very generous spaces with a Georgian/Regency Theme.

The Kitchen space is a traditional enclosed room, unlike the contemporary and clichéd “OPEN” space we are so used to seeing these days.

The design of the kitchen, therefore follows the traditional “U” shaped design as defined by the space, with the only concession to modernity being the generous island in the centre.

The wrought iron panel on the Centre Island was part of a door from the original structure. The clients asked our designer Nick to incorporate this into his design.

Nick framed this very important and Evocative panel into the Island Joinery, creating a bold and confident statement.

It is unique, intrinsically personal and yet in perfect harmony with the home.

The cloves motifs on the panel were also integrated into other elements of the Joinery.

The classic patterned ceramic tiles invoke a Mediterranean feel, reminiscent of a renaissance refectory.

As all kitchens created and built by the team at Degabriele Kitchens, this kitchen was both a challenge and a joy to work on.

Our design team, led by Nick Valmas, worked very closely with our Client, our Factory and our Installers to ensure the detail and the essence of what the client wanted are executed to perfection.

The effort and the attention to detail are evident in the photos.
