Woolloomooloo Project
At first viewing, one can’t help but be awed by this stunning kitchen.
Look a bit closer, however, and more is revealed.
The island appears to float over the floor.
high-end materials
The curved panels bookending the island and main wings help to soften the bulk and mass of the cabinetry, creating an illusion of conciseness, and at the same time facilitating access around the workspaces.
Flush fitting appliances and integrated handles minimise protrusions, contributing to the streamline look of the joinery.
Soft and concealed lighting envelopes the space.
The various design elements employed merge harmoniously, creating a feeling of lightness, weightlessness almost.
It is not hard to imagine the effort our client and our designers went to, to create this unique look, a perfect alchemy of form and function.
The polished Calacatta marble splashback provides depth and texture.
The bold horizontality of the integrated handles and shadow lines draw attention away from the vertical cabinet divisions, whilst the double bull-nosed edges to the marble bench top soften the look, adding a sense of strength and endurance.
The integrated Liebherr fridge and freezer provide a great and seamless refrigeration solution, whilst the matt black Westinghouse oven and the flush ceramic Iive cooktop provide bold contrast.
The Whispair range hood is also concealed to ensure the clean lines are maintained throughout the whole design.
Designer Comments
Here’s what our designer Ben had to say about his work on this stunning project.
“The design brief was to create an elegant and timeless space with soft edges, invoking the art deco style. It must have concealed elements, minimising disruptions to the flow, and to utilise materials that would evoke strength and durability.”
